The Lung Association has two societies for health care professionals - the Ontario Thoracic Society (OTS) and the Ontario Respiratory Care Society (ORCS), the new Primary Care Asthma Program (PCAP), which standardizes best practices in asthma management, is aligned with OTS and ORCS.
The ORCS has a combined membership of more than 500 respiratory therapists, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, occupational therapists and other allied professionals.
The OTS is a medical section of the Ontario Lung Association (OLA). Its membership consists primarily of respirologists practicing in Ontario.
The Lung Association offers a comprehensive Provider Education Program designed to support health care professionals with the most current medical and clinical information.
PCAP is a standardized program based on best practices, outcomes from the PCAPP project and the Canadian Asthma Consensus Guidelines (CACG).
